2016 Fireworks Display

We don’t remember 1976 as the year Harold Wilson resigned as Prime Minister. We don’t remember 1976 as the year Apple Computers was formed by Steve Jobs. We don’t even remember 1976 as the year Agatha Christie died.

We do however remember it as the year the first ever Hereford Fireworks Display was started by the Hereford Round Table.

This year celebrates 40 years since the first fireworks display in the County was held at Hereford Racecourse by the Hereford Round Table. All those years ago a brilliant chaos ensued as the city was gridlocked with people wanting to get a slice of the action at the Racecourse from all over Herefordshire. Heads gazed up into the sky to enjoy the brilliant fireworks entertainment at the most talked about event in the County of that year.

Fast forward forty years and the Hereford Round Table fireworks display is still as popular as it was back then. This year was the biggest and best event in Hereford fireworks history!

“We were really delighted with the turnout for this years Round Table Fireworks. We would like to thank everyone that came and made the evening such a great success.  We also would like to thank everyone that gave up their time and resources free of charge, in particular our main sponsors Sanctuary Housing, also The Hereford Times, Sunshine Radio and The Courtyard for their support.  We hope to have raised in the region of £11,000 for local charities and good causes. Thanks to everyone who came along to join us and our volunteers who yet again gave up their time to make this years event such a success.”
